Hockey Light Upgrade

The State Sport Centres Trust and Hockey Victoria are pleased to announce that works have commenced this week to increase the lighting levels on Pitch 2 at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.

An upgrade to the lighting levels was able to occur due to the strong working relationship between Hockey Victoria and the State Sport Centres Trust. Both organisations have acknowledged the need to meet the current Australian Standard (AS 2560.2.7-1994) for major grade club, national and international hockey competition so that both hockey pitches could be used for this elevated level of competition. The upgrade to the lighting on Pitch 2 follows the major lighting upgrade which was completed on Pitch 1 in preparation for the 2009 Men’s Champions Trophy event.

Although weather dependant, it is expected that these facility improvement works will be completed by the end of February. It should be noted that there will be no disruption to normal play on Pitch 2 during the installation of the new lights during this time.
