Referred to and revered as 'The Cage,' the State Netball Hockey Centre's main stadium is home court for the Melbourne Tigers Basketball Club in the National Basketball League. The Melbourne Tigers have been a part of the NBL since 1984, making season 2008/09 their 25th anniversary. The Tigers have been a dominant force in the development of the sport, with some of Australia’s biggest stars wearing the red and gold for the club. With a current team of leaders and stars in the making, their future has never looked so bright. The Tigers are the reigning NBL Champions, winning their fourth title in 2007/08. |

Led by 2007/08 league MVP and Beijing Olympian, Chris Anstey, the Tigers line up includes fellow Olympian David Barlow, former MVP and Olympian Sam Mackinnon, and exciting imports Ebi Ere and Rod Grizzard.
