National Netball League - Commonwealth Bank Trophy

The National Netball League is more commonly known as the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, which is coordinated by Netball Australia. Netball Victoria holds the license for the two Victorian teams that compete in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy - Melbourne Phoenix and Melbourne Kestrels. As such the organisation is responsible for the management and marketing of the teams, along with staging the Commonwealth Bank Trophy games in liaison with Netball Australia.

In 2007, the Commonwealth Bank Trophy is entering its eleventh year, and sadly its last year of competition. Commencing in 2008, the Commonwealth Bank Trophy will be stepping aside for a Trans-Tasman Trophy competition, which will at this stage involve five teams from Australia and five teams from New Zealand, in what is hoped to be a higher standard of competition, edging on the International stage.
